Hack #2: Use Image of Right File Size
image size and image file size are two different things. For instance, 1068×1068 refers to size of an image. On the other hand, file size refers to space required on the server to store the image.
if the image is of larger size then it would take more time to load. Images of larger file size can negatively affect performance of your site since each time the site loads, the image is to be downloaded from the server.
Thus, the lower the file size, the faster the website will load and visitors on the site will have better user experience.
Hack #3: Optimize Thumbnails
Thumbnails are commonly found in the form of upsells or additional products that are shown to customers after they make an initial purchase. You will lose a chance to upsell if the image does not load itself.
As such, you need to make sure that the image used for upsell is of 70KB or lesser file size and these images should be of GIF or JPEG format. In addition, the thumbnails should have proper file name and ALT tag so that there search engine visibility increases.
